What is a VoIP Gateway?

A VoIP Gateway enables network connectivity by interconnecting a legacy or telephone based network to the new next generation Voice over IP (VoIP) data networks.  Existing telephone networks typically use wired connections such as T1, E1, DS3, ISDN, STM-1 with telcom signaling protocols such as ISDN, SS7 or SIGTRAN that are converted to VoIP networks using a VoIP Gateway with SIP or H.323 signaling. Applications for switches, VoIP carriers or next generation networks  can be enabled by our VoIP Gateway products.  For newer VoIP and SIGTRAN networks, the VoIP Gateway offers a low cost WAN access to telcom legacy based networks. Teleprime Advanced Communications Division now offers low cost IP web portal based provisioning for our VoIP Gateway products.
